Join the Structural Engineers Association of San Diego (SEAOSD) for one of our most anticipated annual events—Student Night 2026—an evening dedicated to celebrating and supporting the next generation of structural engineers.

This special event will feature Ashraf Habibullah, Founder and CEO of Computers and Structures, Inc. (CSI), as our keynote speaker. A longtime supporter of SEAOSD and a global leader in structural engineering software, Ashraf has helped shape modern engineering practice through industry-leading tools such as SAP2000 and ETABS. In 2024, he was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the profession.

During the evening, SEAOSD will also award student scholarships to deserving recipients, recognizing academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to the structural engineering profession.

In addition, all three 2025 SEE Excellence Award Winners will present their work, highlighting innovative student achievements and emerging talent within our community.

He demonstrates why engineering students need to be exposed to much more than just our technology if they are to fully leverage the limitless potential of this amazing profession.

Ashraf emphasizes the need for an education based on human engineering. He convincingly argues, with his usual enthusiasm and humor, why it is important to cultivate deep personal beliefs and pride, to develop powerful communication skills and to understand the power of human psychology and human chemistry. These talents will enable young engineers to enter the professional world empowered to lead, influence, and inspire! And celebrate!
