Robert Pekelnicky, P.E., S.E.

Robert is a Senior Principal and Director of Technical Advancement at Degenkolb Engineers, widely recognized for his leadership in seismic and multi-hazard resilience. He specializes in performance-based earthquake engineering and risk mitigation for critical infrastructure, helping shape national standards and best practices. As chair of the ASCE 41 Seismic Evaluation and Retrofit committee and an active member of ASCE 7 subcommittees, Robert plays a key role in advancing guidelines that improve building safety and resilience. His work bridges research and practical application, ensuring communities and businesses are better prepared for natural and man-made hazards.
