Event Description:
A national survey of over 2,100 structural engineers found that more than half of all structural engineers have considered leaving the profession at some point in their career. The main reasons that people considered leaving the profession are:
- Work-Life Balance
- Less Stress
- Higher Pay
In response to these results, SEAOSD has created a new committee, "The SE3 Committee" that will address these topics to improve employee engagement and the career satisfaction of structural engineers. Our first event addresses the topic of "Higher Pay" by providing structural engineers with skills training around preparing for an interview, negotiating salary and asking for a raise.
The Key Takeaways will be:
- How to be a good candidate and demonstrate your value to the organization
- How to negotiate the offer, compare multiple offers including benefits and the right time to ask for a promotion
- Hiring Managers Perspective: Important information for candidates and best practices for managers
